SciCope: AI-driven microscope controller

One app that drives the microscope on the bench and turns what it records into measurements.

Running an experiment in the lab used to mean juggling vendor software for the camera, a separate program for the stage and another one for the analysis. SciCope is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that puts the whole bench into one window: cameras, a motorised stage, the lights and a focus lens, all driven from your own computer.

Experiments can run themselves: plate scans, timelapses, autofocus and following a moving animal on the stage. An assistant can operate the microscope from plain-language requests, and any phone can be used as a camera through the companion app.

The second half of the app is an analysis workspace for finding, tracking and measuring animals in the recordings. When the tracker gets confused, for example when two animals touch, the app points out those moments so they can be fixed with a click.
